MRM ranked third-largest mining exporter
MRM has been recognised by the Government of Mozambique as one of the country’s largest exporters in the mining sector – securing third place for the 2025 financial year.
MRM received the award during a public ceremony held as part of the 61st Maputo International Trade Fair (FACIM 2026), presided over by the President of the Republic of Mozambique, Daniel Francisco Chapo.
While MRM is pleased to be recognised as one of the country’s largest exporters in the mining sector, reaching third place for 2025 represents a decline in the rankings after four consecutive years of coming second. The result comes during a particularly challenging period for the company, marked by lower premium ruby production and reduced revenues, largely driven by the continued growth of organised illegal ruby smuggling syndicates.
