The new range from talented New York-based designer Sandy Leong was unveiled at the Bloomingdale’s flagship in the heart of Manhattan, at an exclusive trunk show for top clients and press. Each piece features emeralds from Kagem and rubies from Montepuez, with 10% of proceeds set to go to the Gemfields Foundation, the charitable arm of Gemfields.

Sandy Leong and Gemfields are natural brand partners with shared values. Gemfields is a world-leading responsible miner and marketer of coloured gemstones committed to giving back to local communities around its mines in Africa. Leong is equally passionate about responsible sourcing and putting her profits to good use. Encouraging environmental and social responsibility in every aspect of her work, she regularly donates proceeds from her collection to the Gemfields Foundation, which supports projects on the ground in Africa aimed at conservation and improving the quality of life of local people.

This latest eight-piece collection, crafted locally in New York, uses only recycled 18k gold, conflict-free diamonds and, of course, Gemfields’ responsibly mined coloured gems. The range consists of a striking emerald-twist cocktail ring; a ruby halo ring; an emerald wave stacking ring; a pearl and ruby pendant suitable for a choker or a chain; chunky gold bangles with gemstone detailing; diamond pave hoop earrings with emerald studs; and baguette huggie ear hoops with emerald or ruby studding.

Each piece in the collection is delicate and quirky and crafted to the highest standards by skilled artisans, with a simplicity that allows the coloured gemstones to shine. Pieces are available to buy at Bloomingdale’s or online.
