Colour on the Carpet at the Oscars
After the black out of the Golden Globes and BAFTAs, this years’ Oscars were awash with colour.
To cover the event, Gemfields teamed up with TV host and style blogger Louise Roe who reported from the red carpet to Access Hollywood and her glamorous following on both social media and her blog, Front Roe.
Louise shares her styling tips and season trends in her blog Front Roe as well as her getting ready tips ahead of Oscars night on her YouTube channel, selecting an array of striking rubies to complete her red carpet style. Her look featured stunning Fabergé ruby marquise and cushion cut rings, paired with elegant Seraphina Wing Earrings by GFGJewellery.
Taking over Gemfields’ Insta stories for the big night, Louise took us for a rare glimpse behind the scenes in LA! View her posts here.
Rubies were also the choice of Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn, who took to the red carpet in Bulgari vintage pieces, including a statement ruby, diamond and platinum necklace (1969), ruby platinum and diamond drop earrings (1955) and a diamond and platinum bracelet (circa 1930).
And colour on the carpet didn’t stop there. Helen Mirren wore a head-turning collection of sapphires from Harry Winston, including a cushion-cut sapphire and diamond necklace (115.27 carats) and cushion-cut sapphire and diamond earrings (25.22 carats), all set in platinum.
And Emily Blunt chose Chopard’s “High Jewellery Collection”, selecting earrings with 30.96 carats of pear-shaped aquamarines and diamonds set in titanium, a ring featuring a 12.92-carat aquamarine and diamonds set in 18k white gold; and a ring from the “Temptations Collection” featuring a 5.11-carat pear-shaped aquamarine with diamonds, amethyst and tanzanite. Hurrah for colour!
