Description
Francis de Lara introduces a new FDL Editions by Francis de Lara eyewear frame, ‘Tuxedo’, with a unique piece made with a Gemfields emerald teardrop.
The frame is crafted from gold-plated aeropace-grade titanium, considered a fine and high jewellery material, which is hypoallergenic, ultra-lightweight and incredibly strong. They feature a gorgeous Gemfields emerald teardrop (0.7ct) motif. The frame harks back to an antique ribbon, with a knotted-bow front and serpentine ribbon sides, studded with four Mexican pale fire opals (1.4 cts), and a natural diamond round. The side-temples are further accented with three false empty-settings, giving the idea of stones fallen out over time, like an antique unearthed. The gradated brown lenses provide 100% UV protection and crystal-clear vision without distortion. The unisex Supersize Aviators feature a ‘Telato’ engraving effect, made by tiny, unevenly scored lines in a cross-hatch pattern to give a ‘linen texture’, paying homage to classic Florentine hand-engraving techniques. Lens-locks on the sides keep the lenses firmly in place, and are easy to unscrew in case you wish to replace the lenses with another colour or prescription lens, as these frames are prescription-ready.
FDL Editions frames are made with ethically-sourced materials. In view of this, combined with our obsession with details, we’ve decided that a glasses case should not simply be just ‘a glasses case’. Each pair of FDL Editions comes in a beautiful designer case, which multi-functions as a chic shoulder bag. It is made from sustainable vegan eco-friendly, durable pineapple fibre mock-crocodile leather, finished with beautiful hardware and an elegant metal shoulder chain. In case you decide to leave your FDL Editions glasses at home, you can stick your phone, keys and essentials in the shoulder-bag and you’re ready to go.
0.70ct Gemfields Emerald, 1.7mm diamond round, 1.8cts opals, titanium, UV proof lenses, hand-finished.
FDL Editions frames are compliant to the PPE Regulations and Sunglasses standards BS EN ISO 12312-1.
