MRM relaunches local entrepreneurship support
MRM has relaunched a small entrepreneurship financing project in the Administrative Post of Namanhumbir, called “Opyithikula Ocumi” – “Transforming Lives” – in the local Emakhuwa language.
Budgeted at one million two hundred thousand meticais (MZN 1,200,000), the project is already benefitting 24 citizens, 12 from the village of Nseue and 12 from Namanhumbir-sede, the majority of whom are young people.
MRM established Community Development Management Committees in each community, comprising representatives from different segments and social groups, to develop Community Agendas. In doing so, the Nseue and Namanhumbir-sede communities identified the financing of entrepreneurship initiatives as one of their main priorities.
The beneficiaries of the initiative were selected by the communities themselves and will be accountable to their community through the respective committee, while MRM assumes the role of partner and financier of the initiatives.
