Gemfields at Vegas Trade Shows

The US team had a strong presence at the Las Vegas trade shows this year. Building on the collaboration with the Muse Showroom designers from2016, Gemfields gemstones were featured in the work of 36 designers at the Couture Show.

Within the Muse booth, a new charm collection, targeted at the younger, self-purchase customer, was launched to great press interest, and one complete charm necklace collection was sold outright on the second day of the show. A selection of the GemfieldsxMuse pieces were made available for immediate order on Moda Operandi. Jack Cunningham was on hand to brief show attendees on Gemfields sustainability programs: a morning meeting dubbed “Coffee with Jack” was enthusiastically attended. The JCK show, which opened immediately following Couture, saw Gemfields host a lunchtime panel as part of JCK’s official education track. Co-hosted and moderated by the Jewellers Vigilance Committee, the panel addressed some of the issues in the coloured stone supply chain and was targeted at US retailers. Gemfields gathered a diverse group of prominent voices in the industry, representing the RJC, the laboratories, and retailer Signet. Ian Harebottle attended both shows, returning saying he was hugely impressed by the energy within the US market.
