Italian by birth and culture, Federica Rettore developed an international awareness while spending a few years living in the USA during her youth. In 1994, she established her own company to design and produce lines of jewellery.
From 2005 through 2008, while designing her own collections and running her company, she also managed Gucci’s jewellery design team.
Federica’s creations have attracted attention from collectors in Italy and the USA, as well as being commissioned by upscale international stores in New York, Beverly Hills, Chicago, Puerto Rico, Las Vegas, Aspen and Vail.
Federica showcased her collections at the American specialty trade fair Couture Las Vegas; and in 2011, she won a couture design award; she has also been nominated first runner-up several times.
Her summer house on the island of Sardinia is the place where she is most inspired to design her collections; she loves the beauty of the nature in Sardinia, and the roar of the stormy sea. The contrasting colours of the landscapes and the driving force of natural elements fuel her design creativity.
Federica’s arrangements of gemstones and colours are driven by her belief that everything in the universe is linked together. She first collaborated with Gemfields in 2015, when she and other leading designers were asked by Bergdorf Goodman to create exceptional ruby and emerald pieces to debut in the store’s new jewellery salon, and a strong partnership was born.
